Time For A Change

As parents and leaders of Kabbage we simply cannot imagine the grief of families who too often have been stricken by gun violence like the tragedy in Parkland, Florida. The technology community must work to prevent these horrifying and heartbreaking events from robbing our children of their futures.

In our business, we say there are thousands of ways to attract a customer. Unfortunately, none are easy, and we must be good at all of them. Implementing vital change is no different; there is no magic formula. It will take all of us rolling up our sleeves and trying new tactics, and while many will fail, innovative solutions will help us achieve the results we desire. It will take revision, focus and persistence.

Today, Kabbage is taking the following steps to do our part:

  • We will stand united with the Parkland survivors and their allies nationwide when they stage a walkout on March 14th. Our offices will close for a time, and our team members are invited to walk out as a demonstration of our solidarity.
  • We will donate $100,000 to a charity chosen by the students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School to prevent these types of tragedies.
  • We will match up to $250,000 in donations made by our employees, customers and extended community of friends and family.

If you would like to participate in Kabbage’s $250,000 match-back donation, please make your donation to the existing Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School GoFundMe account:

Once the donation is made, please complete this survey, for Kabbage to track and match all donations:

We will communicate the total match-back donation from Kabbage to you directly. Thank you for taking a stand with Kabbage.

  • We, the CEO, President & COO of Kabbage, will start this matching contribution by each donating $10,000.
  • We will not fund any businesses that we identify as a seller of firearms or ammunition to individuals under 21 or that sell or manufacture any form of assault style weapon. We will implement this policy for existing customers as quickly as possible.

The next generation, exemplified by the courage of students simply unwilling to accept the status quo any longer, will lead our nation in raising the bar today and well into the future.

We call on the broader FinTech, technology and business community to join us in protecting our children from unnecessary harm and championing their voice for change.

We are up to the task – we hope you are as well.
