Truckers Nailing the Instagram Game
Over-the-road truckers often have an office view most of us only dream of – breathtaking scenery, unique buildings and stunning landmarks usually seen on a postcard. Luckily for us, many truckers are prolific Instagram users, using the mobile app to share moments of their daily life on the road.
Instagram is an online mobile photo-and video-sharing social networking service that allows users to share their photos and videos through social networking platforms. Users find and share photos by using hashtags to identify categories. We found many truckers and their spouses with photographic talent using hashtags like #truckerlife, #truckerslife, #truckersjourney and #truckersview.
Truckers have the opportunity to capture a wealth of different images because their jobs take them throughout the country. Here’s a round-up of 10 truckers and their spouses on Instagram who are sharing some amazing photos. Enjoy!
@califslim describes herself as a “trucker’s wife documenting his travels across the United States.” She said both she and her trucker husband take the photos, but he takes most of them, like this winter image snapped in Illinois. “This is our view of our lives, separated by the miles until that magical time known as ‘home time.’” And a gorgeous view it is.
@shannyroyce describes her photography like this: “What I love about pictures is that they capture a moment that’s gone forever, impossible to reproduce. Taking pictures is savoring life intensely.” Check out her Instagram page for more images that capture moments in her day, such as crossing the “busiest bridge in the world,” below.
@sassykattsworld says she’s living life as a trucker’s wife, “capturing the moments along the way with a cell phone, 70 mph down the highway.” Most Instagram users use their mobile devices to snap and post, making it the perfect way for truckers and their spouses to share while out on the road. Nice job, @sassykattsworld!
@road_photography uses his phone to “capture the beauty of American roads.” Here’s an example of his talent, a shot of a morning drive through Texas.
@truckersjourney shares a “visual journey as an owner-operator, trucking across America from the driver’s seat.” This striking image of solar equipment in the desert is an example of this trucker’s outstanding artistic eye.
@nagman4 takes some great shots, from landscapes to urban settings. Here’s a beautifully-composed image taken on Long Island. Check out his link for more.
@chromaticphoto Freight location specialist T.A. Willis chronicles his life on the road with his iPhone. He says he loves photography, and it shows. Here’s an Ohio landscape Willis took last year.
@carebear4934 travels the country on 18 wheels, riding shotgun. She’s got great opportunities to take stunning pictures like this old church and graveyard in Illinois.
@robert_cepero snapped this wildlife image on the frozen plains.
