How do I open a Kabbage Checking account?

What fees come with a Kabbage Checking account?
Kabbage Checking doesn’t have any monthly maintenance fees or minimum balance requirements. Please see the Kabbage Checking Fee Table below.

**This fee is in addition to any other fee that may apply to your transaction, such as, for example, the teller cash withdrawal fee.

 

Do you offer interest on deposits?
Balances up to $100,000 in your Kabbage Checking account, including balances in Reserves, currently earn 1.10% APY. The annual percentage yield (“APY”) is accurate as of 5/1/21 and may change at our discretion at any time. The APY is applied on account balances in your primary Kabbage Checking account and each associated Reserve, up to $100,000 in the aggregate. No interest is earned on aggregate balances of over $100,000. The average daily balance method is used to calculate interest.

 

Where can I find my account and routing numbers?
Select “Account details” on the Overview screen to find your account and routing numbers.

 

Why is my routing number from Green Dot and not Kabbage?
Kabbage Checking is provided by Green Dot Bank. Because of this, your Kabbage Checking account number and routing number may show up as “GoBank, A Division of Green Dot Bank.”

 

Do I have to be an existing Kabbage customer to apply for a Kabbage Checking account?
Yes. Kabbage Checking is open to small business owners looking for a simple, affordable way to manage their money. If you don’t have a Kabbage account yet, you will need to open one in order to apply for Kabbage Checking.

 

Is the money I deposit into my Kabbage Checking account FDIC insured?
Yes. Money you put into your Kabbage Checking account is FDIC insured through Green Dot Bank, Member FDIC, up to the maximum allowed by law. Upon successfully opening a Kabbage Checking Account, funds on deposit at Green Dot Bank, Member FDIC, are insured up to the standard maximum deposit insurance limit. Coverage limit is subject to aggregation of all of Cardholder’s funds held on deposit at Green Dot Bank.

 

Is there a minimum amount required to open a Kabbage Checking account?
No. You can open a Kabbage Checking account without an initial deposit if you wish, though you’ll have the ability to add funds to your account during the opening process.

 

How do I order customized checks?
You can order customized, paper checks from the Overview tab on your Kabbage Checking account. These checks are available in two sizes: personal (6 inches) and business (6 inches with end stub). There is a $20 fee for one pack of 100 personal-sized checks, and a fee of $125 for a pack of 250 business-sized checks, which come with a cover and binder. Your business information and accountholder name will appear on your checks.

What are Reserves?
Reserves allow you to organize your money for specific savings goals or categories. Currently, accountholders can have up to five unique Reserves. Money in Reserves must be moved to the available balance in your bank account before it can be used. If a Reserve is closed during a Statement Cycle, interest accrued during such Statement Cycle but unpaid with respect to that Reserve is forfeited.

How do I view/print my statements?
Select “Statements and documents” on the Overview screen to find your statements.

Does Kabbage Checking offer joint accounts?
No, joint accounts are not currently offered through this program.

 

How do I close my account?
To close your account, you must first either spend any remaining funds, or transfer them out to achieve a $0 balance. You can then call us for next steps at 888-986-8263.

 

How can I link my Kabbage Checking account to third party services such as Venmo, etc.?
On a third-party service’s site, search for Kabbage Checking. The results may show an option that reads “GoBank, A Division of Green Dot Bank.” This is because the Kabbage Checking account is provided by Green Dot Bank. You can click on that to add your Kabbage Checking account or alternatively, you may be required to manually verify the account via microdeposits.

 

I got a message that I’m not eligible for the Kabbage Business Checking account at this time, what does that mean?
The screen message is to notify you of our decision on the Kabbage Checking Account. There are several reasons why we may have determined this. The most common reasons include financial condition of your company, industry risk, fraud and other eligibility criteria.

Checking Deposits

How do I add money to my Kabbage Checking account?

For bank transfers: Start by selecting “Transfer money” on the Overview screen, and then follow the directions given. You can also visit your outside bank’s website and provide them your Kabbage Checking account and routing numbers. To find your Kabbage Checking account and routing numbers, select “Account details” on the Overview screen.

For incoming wire transfers: You can set up a domestic wire from another bank account to Kabbage Checking. Kabbage does not impose a fee for any incoming, domestic wire transfers. Click here for instructions for incoming domestic wire transfers.

For cash deposits: You can deposit cash at any of nearly 90,000 participating retailers nationwide, for a fee up to $4.95. A map of cash deposit locations is available in the Kabbage mobile app. Please note: the maximum you can deposit in cash in one day is $5,000. As a reminder, please save your receipt for your future records.

For check deposits: Deposit checks simply by taking a picture using the Kabbage mobile app. Start by selecting “Deposit checks” on the Overview screen, and then follow the directions given. Checks deposited through mobile deposit will typically be available by the fifth business day after the date of deposit. If we need to review your deposit, it may take a little longer for your money to be available. Not all new or existing customers are eligible to use the Service. To be eligible to enroll, customers will need to have made an initial deposit by ACH. In addition, customers will be subject to identity verification procedures.

I’m unable to link another business checking account to Kabbage Checking to add money to my account.

How can I set up direct deposit?

To set up direct deposit, you will just need your Kabbage Checking account and routing numbers. You can find this information by selecting “Account details” on the Overview screen. Your Kabbage Checking account number and routing number will show up as “GoBank, A Division of Green Dot Bank.” This is because the Kabbage Checking account is provided by Green Dot Bank.

 

How do I use mobile deposits?
You can deposit checks using the Kabbage mobile app with your iPhone or Android device. Start by selecting “Deposit checks” on the Overview screen and follow the directions on the screens. You need to take a picture of the front and back of your check. Please make sure to endorse your check by signing your name, and writing “For mobile deposit only to Kabbage Checking” below. As a reminder, the check being deposited must match the name on the account.
We recommend you take the photo in good, natural light on a dark (or otherwise contrasting) background and hold the camera as steady as possible. You should also consider holding onto the original check until you see that the funds have posted to your account. Checks deposited through mobile deposit will typically be available by the fifth business day after the date of deposit. If your deposit needs to be reviewed, it may take a little longer for your money to be available. Not all new or existing customers are eligible to use the Service. To be eligible to enroll, customers will need to have made an initial deposit by ACH. In addition, customers will be subject to identity verification procedures.

 

Why am I being asked to share my location for mobile deposit?

Per our internal procedures, in order to prevent fraud, you will be asked to share your location when you make a mobile deposit.

My app says I’m ineligible to use mobile deposits.

To be eligible to enroll in mobile deposits, you will need to first make an ACH deposit into your Kabbage Checking account. You will also be subject to additional identify verification procedures upon enrollment.

Checking Transactions

How do I make an outgoing domestic wire transfer?

Click on “Wire transfer” from the Overview screen. You will then input information about your recipient, including name, routing and account number, and address. There is a fee of $25 for each outgoing domestic wire transfer.

What information should I provide for an incoming wire transfer?
In order to receive a wire transfer to your Kabbage Checking account, you’ll need to provide the sender your name and address, as well as your routing and account numbers, and the name of the bank, Green Dot Bank. (This is because the Kabbage Checking account is provided by Green Dot Bank) The daily limit for incoming wires is $50,000. Please call us at 888-986-8263 if you would like to discuss your wire transfer needs.

Checking ATM

How do I get cash out of my account?
You can withdraw cash for free at any of the ATMs in our network. Use the ATM locator in the Kabbage mobile app to find the one closest to you. You can also request cash back when making a debit purchase at participating retailers. For out-of-network ATMs, the ATM operator may charge a fee.

How do I set or change my ATM PIN?
To set or change your ATM pin, click on “Manage card” on the Overview screen.

How do I find an in-network ATM?

You can use our ATM locator in the Kabbage mobile app to find the one closest to you.

What’s the most cash I can withdraw each day?

You may withdraw up to $2,000 in cash in a single day.

Checking Debit Card

How long will it take to receive my Kabbage debit card?

Once you successfully open an account, you’ll receive your personalized Kabbage debit card in the mail within 5 to 7 business days. It will arrive in a plain, white envelope. If you haven’t received your personalized card after two weeks, contact us at 888-986-8263.

How do I activate my Kabbage debit card?

To activate your Kabbage debit card, call the number on the card sticker and follow the prompts.

How can I lock my debit card if I’ve lost or misplaced it?
If you misplaced or lost your debit card, you can temporarily lock it to protect your account. To lock or unlock your card, click on “Manage card” on the Overview screen. If you lock your card, you can still manage the account for some operations such as debit transactions that you authorized before you locked your account, transactions crediting your account, ACH debit transactions that use your account and routing numbers (i.e., direct deposit), recurring bill payment, mobile check deposit, and person-to-person transfers.

How do I report my Kabbage debit card lost, stolen or not received?
You can report that your card is lost or stolen by clicking on “Manage card” on the Overview screen. If it has been more than two weeks and you have not yet received your new card, please contact us at 888-986-8263.

What do I do if I have a question or think there is an error on my account?
If you see something that doesn’t look right, contact us immediately at 888-986-8263. Please have your account number on hand, as well as details of the error. This will help us speed up the process.
